Wine of the Week: Terminus

Terminus is a Grenache and Syrah blend, and  more than a bit addictive according to the few stores that are able to carry it. One store owner in New York State calls Terminus the “crack cocaine” of his town. He remembers the one time he ran out of it for ONE WEEKEND and people looked like they were suffering from withdrawal.

Pinot Noir is like your slightly quirky but clearly brilliant cousin. Or friend. Or whatever. It’s very sensitive, often moody, and difficult to manage. But when all the stars align properly, and he/she shows that special stuff that you all know is there, it’s magic. No other wine grape is capable of such a thing.

Do you speak wine?

This week’s Wine Of The Week is Atticus John Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California, and it has quickly become one of the hottest Cabernets to come out of Napa in a very long time.

Wine blogs and message boards are full of guesses and questions about who makes this wine. We know it has to be one of Napa’s top producers because it tastes like a hundred dollar bottle. At twenty five dollars and ninety nine cents, it’s sort of like paying for a Kia and getting a BMW.  It’s rich and juicy with flavors of black cherry, espresso, and dark chocolate.
