The Puma evoPOWER Test Boot Release
The Puma evoPOWER Test Boot Release
Posted by Rafael Gonzales

Early this month, World Football Daily was sent a press release from Puma, informing us about the release of a new boot model.  The Puma evoPOWER is the latest boot from the Sports Brand and is set to be released to the public on January 16th.  Some of the players you will see testing this boot out are FC Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas, AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli, and Dortmund’s Marco Reus.  The camouflage on this boot is cleverly using the Puma cat logo.

According the boot maker, the evoPOWER “takes its inspiration from the bare footb, with design characteristics that are unrivalled in the football industry.”

Of course, the actual details of new features and benefits in this boot are very hush, hush. But World Football Daily is happy to bring you some close looks at the boot from several angles.  From the looks of it, this boot seems to be cross between the evoSPEED and the PowerCat boots.  For myself (Rafa), I’m very interested to see how this might work out because I enjoy strapping on the PowerCats but am not too fond of the evoSPEEDs.  The PowerCats fit my foot great. The striking surface is wonderful; clean and true.  In comparison to some of the other performance boots on the market, the PowerCat did feel a little bulky and a little sticky in grass, which is not necessarily a bad thing if you’re defending. The evoSPEEDs just don’t fit my foot really.  The design is a little too streamline for me.  The boot technology itself is incredible.  But unfortunately, that same technology is hard to enjoy when your feet are uncomfortable.

WFD is also sensing a little similarity between this boot and the Nike CTR III boot.  Again, not necessarily a bad thing here.  The Nike CTR III is currently my favorite boot on the market today (again, it’s Rafa), so if the Puma evoPOWER can compete in the price range, there is potential for picking up converts.

Overall, we look forward to testing this boot out when it comes.  If you’re a Puma die-hard, you should be excited for the release of this boot.
