There are no men dressed in blue paint, now David Luis appearing from a pool of blue looking like an Orc from a Lord Of The Rings movie and no Fernando Torres looking like he's just walked out of a rather chaotic children's finger painting party (although Juan Mata does look like he's just been caught using some Harpic toilet cleaner while wearing his new shirt).
No, the launch of Chelsea's new away shirt for next season has been done in a very calm and relaxed fashion, with just a couple of screenshots and a simple design that harks back to Chelsea's away shirts of the 1960's being the method of choice to release one of the best looking shirts we've seen this season.
The thin blue and red stripes across the chest would look at home on a Netherlands away shirt while the royal blue trim placed on a white background helps the Chelsea badge, and adidas's logo and patented three stripes design stand out on the new kit.
The shirt will be given it's freedom to be sold on the 4th of July (you see what we did there) and will cost £49.99. |
