In today's show we did our official World Football Daily Champions League Mock Draw which we take with the utmost seriousness. Here is how the Champions League Round of 16 Knock-out Stage would look like if they left it up to Steven and Kenny, as performed in our live show.
Copenhagen FC v Schalke 04
Valencia v Shakhtar Donetsk
Arsenal FC v FC Barcelona
AC Milan v Chelsea FC
Lyon v Bayern Munich
Inter Milan v Real Madrid
Marseille v Manchester United FC
AS Roma v Tottenham Hotspurs
There are some real juicy match-ups here and one can only hope to see a rematch between Arsenal and Barcelona, Ancelotti go back to his old club AC Milan, or ever better, seeing Jose return to whip Rafa and his old Inter Milan squad. Would be magical, to say the least.
In today's show, we had some fantastic guests, including Miriam Elder of the Global Post to discuss what she is seeing in Russia with Fan rioting running rampant in the 2018 World Cup Host nation. Later in the show, we are joined by Eoin O'Callaghan who also gives his two cents on this issue. The Fox Soccer Channel correspondent also gives us his hopes for the Champions League draw and tells us what to expect this Sunday when Manchester United travel to London to take on Chelsea.
We also had a brilliant 30+ minute chat with current Vancouver Whitecaps' defender, and former Watford FC hero, Jay DeMerit. He is a brilliant man who is "humble and grounded" as described by Steven. Jay opened up on his time spent in England, telling us stories of what it was like to be beaten by Manchester United and a Giggsy goal at Old Trafford, as well as how it felt to be promoted into the Premiership. The defender also went into great detail about his Confederation Cup experience beating Spain and how come the US kept leaking in early goals in their South African World Cup campaign. Well worth the listen if you have the time.
