In October 2010 following Milan's 1-2 loss to Juventus I wrote :
Pato was useless. Despite his talent he is a massively flawed footballer. He over-dribbles, his first touch is shocking at times, his crossing poor etc, etc. In his three years at Milan he hasn't improved. He's yet to hit 20 league goals, he hasn't got close. He has less spots and a less ridiculous haircut and that's about it. He's had a good start to this campaign but where was he today? Where was he against Real Madrid? Other than giving away the ball for the second goal. And last week against Napoli?Pato has scored 11 goals in 19 games league games this season. On the surface a very respectable goal ratio but in those 19 games the Brazilian has only hit the winning goal on two occasions, against Bari and Chievo and in his other 17 games he has failed to rescue Milan from a losing position i.e. scored an equalising goal. Berlusconi has been critical of Pato's inability to stay fit, suggesting he may be sold at the end of the season, despite his romance with Silvio's smoking hot daughter, Barbara. In the era of financial fair play it makes sense to cash in on a talented but selfish player and use the funds to make the loan moves of Ibrahimovic and Boateng permanent and address the deficiencies in the make-up of a squad top heavy in defensive midfielders and weak in all other areas.
