Boateng Bros Take it to the Concrete of Berlin

The Panke, a concrete football court located next to the Panke River in Wedding, Berlin, is the hometown court for the Brothers Boateng.  Recently, the three brothers reunited at their hometown court  as part of Nike Football's #MyGround campaign to look back at where they all honed their skills and feel in love with the game.

"I owe everything to the Panke," said the Milan star Kevin-Prince Boateng.

Growing up in Berlin, Kevin-Prince, Jerome, and George would play at the Panke around the clock.  "The Panke had a strong influence on us as brothers - small-sided football made us better football players, but also brought us together as brothers.  It's very cool to feel the atmosphere here again and pass it on," said K-P.

The event saw the brother's rocking the new Nike FC247 collection, which included the Nike Lunar Gato II (my personal favorite) and the Elastico Finale II.

Launching in a distinctive blue and yellow color combo, the Nike Lunar Gato show is designed for a fast and dynamic game. The supple leather upper improves ball-to-foot feel and eliminates a break-in period.  Fused mesh panels lock down the midfoot to maximize lateral support and gives the Lunar Gato II the perfect balance of lightweight and comfort. (Where have I heard that before?)

A dynamic green design marks out the Nike Elastico Finale II, which features 39% fewer components and is 22% lighter than the previous show. The more flexible outsole, designed hard-court surfaces, features a herringbone and dot design to help maximize traction and improve underfoot ball control. The Elastico Finale II also features a breathable perforated upper and heel, and a redesigned eyestay to optimize comfort and feel.
