Show Recap |
Monday is here and the amount of football to talk about seems endless. Our guest for the day is the Telegraph's very own Jonathan Liew to help us review the massive news coming out of the FA Cup weekend. Hard to tell where to start, but rest assure, we get Jonathan's opinion on the call that never came from England's best referee and World Cup representative in Howard Webb. There was a sure fire penalty on Liverpool star Luis Suarez, and the no call begs the question, why? Why didn't Webb make the call that everyone else, including Arsenal supporters seem to recognize. Surely Howard Webb is above being a subjective official who takes out his personal bias on players he dislikes. Manchester City dispatched of Chelsea, claiming back their home ground after being beaten by the Londoners at the Etihad in the league recently. We get Liew's opinion on whether Jose and his men were OK with dropping out of the FA Cup. What does the other side of the Merseyside Derby have in store for the rest of the tournament. The Toffees struggled a bit in the first half, but managed to step up to the task at hand in the second. Plus, we look at how the fixture build up might affect those teams still competing in Europe.
Rafa comes on after Jonathan to give us his opinion on the FA Cup action. We even get a little bit of the Arsenal-apologist from Rafa as he stands up for Wenger's men and even some of Wenger's comments back towards Jose Mourinho who called out the Arsenal boss as being a Specialist in Losing. Rafa also brings up the interesting results coming out of the three horse title race in la Liga. Sure Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid both bagged three goals from their fixtures, but it was Barcelona who raised the bar, scoring 6 goals from 5 different players, along with 5 different players providing assists on the goals. Regardless, if you're playing any Spanish team in the Champions League, be afraid. Ollie also reviews all the major football results coming out of Germany, Italy and France.
