Show Recap
Champions League may be done for the week and it has blessed us with plenty to talk about for sure, but there may be an argument for the fact that Major League Soccer Playoffs have surpassed the European tournament in terms of excitement for the day. We bring on two guests for the day, kicking things off with Seth Vertelney, American soccer writer for Goal.com. As we said, the incredible results from last night's Major League soccer Playoff results were beyond entertaining. We bet against the Dynamo for the second time this off-season and for the second time, Coach Kinnear and the boys proved us wrong. Seth tries to explain how this happened and just what we can expect from the Dynamo who look to make it to three straight MLS Cup Finals. In the other match, Sporting KC managed to squeak past a New England Revolution side who turned around their season from last year. Our second guest of the day is Russian football writer James Appell who joins the program to help us catch up on all things football from behind the Iron Curtain. The issue of Racism is hot around the entire world of football, but recent news has shifted the focus onto CSKA Moscow after an incident in Champions League when Manchester City came to town. We get the scoop from some one who lives and breathes the football and can offer up a real perspective. We also take the time to ask James just where the state of Russian football is in relation to the rest of Europe, and what is the story with the rise of Lokamotiv Moscow. Rafa comes on the show to talk a little bit about the MLS playoff results and Champions League results from last night. And of course, we tell you what matches to watch tonight in the Europa League. So jump right in and press play on Thursdays Podcast.
