Show Recap
It's the Wednesday edition of World Football Daily with plenty to kick about with midweek football coming from all around the globe. Our guest for the day is the legendary European football writer and dear friend for the show, Andy Brassell. Andy joins us from Germany where he is covering the German Cup, attending the Eintracht Frankfurt v Borussia Dortmund yesterday and making an appearance at Hamburg v Bayern Munich tonight. Dortmund get a big win to keep their hopes for silverware alive as they scrap past Frankfurt. Andy tries to explain why Dortmund have struggled some this season to live up to the expectations of football fans around the world. The Brass also talks about the tough story of Robert Lewandowski who is dealing with false accusations of hitting a kid and having his Porsche vandalized. Andy also explains what sort of expectations Bayern Munich have on them this season from fans and as you can imagine, invincibility is not out of the question. Hamburg may not have much hope against Bayern, but we try to figure out how to solve the problems at that club with Andy. We wrap up with Andy on the topic of Julian Draxler and the potential move to Arsenal during the January transfer window.

Rafa then comes on the program to talk about his daughter's pink eye and how it allowed him to watch plenty of football yesterday, which in turn was a great thing for the show because Ollie missed out on much of it because of his commentating of a Tennis tournament in Mississippi. We break down exactly who will step up and grab hold of this Premier League title and Rafa asks for credit for sort-of calling the Chelsea/West Brom match. Ollie talks about the importance of the Arsenal v Manchester United fixture tonight for both clubs who seem to be teetering on collapse in many different ways. The boys also discuss the incredible two-legged affair between Fiorentina and Udinese with wonder goals coming from all over the place. Then of course there was the Copa del Rey action which saw Ronaldo and Bale both drawing a penalty that CR7 kindly put away to completely demoralize an Atletico Madrid side who may have been checked out of this competition already. And we wrap up the show with some bone-head moves from Rafa and Ollie yesterday. Make sure to tune in and find out what happened to them.
